Water Quality Standards Archives
There is good quality water I shall have to sell one of these days and improve my income and standard of living and create jobs!
How would you define “WATER QUALITY” is it water that tastes good, is non-toxic or is it defined by the presence of absence of certain chemicals or ions. I am trying to see if DISTILLED WATER MAKER (waterwise) is better than or the same as, MINERAL WATER sold in shops. I know Mineral water as sold in shops is impure, most of the time does not meet standards. So, is a waterwise a good solution?
How will you abate / mitigate/ resolve Total Dissolved Solids of Effluents from the Mining Industry?
Mining Effluents normally are acidic with pH values lower than 5. Treating it with lime solves the problem however it increase the concentration of Total Disolved Solids resulting to the exceedance of Water Quality Standards. Putting up a filtration process is not economically feasible since the wastewater / effluent volume ranges from 25,000 to 30,000 cubic meters. Establishing or amending the effluent standard would take sometime as all the criteria , environmental & ecological and health impacts must be evaluated and assessed. Time is of the essence as it will affect the socio-economic impact of the mining industry and the ecology and environment as a whole.
I am looking for a standard way of ranking the quality of a wetland. I assume this would have something to do with Biological diversity within the wetland, water storage etc. Does anyone know of standards similar to this and if so where and who has created those standards.
Should I continue to drink the tap water here in SD or buy bottled like so many. According to the water dept., the H2O here is supposed to be within quality standards. Is there something lurking in the water that I don’t know about? Not sick Yet!
I want to design simple water treatment unit in home to get good of water quality or best drinking water quality because ifeel there is an deviation from standard concentration for some material which cause to bad test
doesn’t it differ from state to state
For every gallon of paint, there is 1/3 gallon of drinking water, ( 1/2 a billion gallons a year wasted) for every gallon of Anti-Freeze, there is 1/2 gallon of Drinking Water, ( 1/2 a Billion Gallons a year wasted) For every Gallon of ?, startfilling in your ideas. just imagine how many products are made with Drinking Water that can be replaced with Recycled Water, Recycled water quality that has been used for decades to irrigate our edible food crops. The Federal Recycled Water Quality Standards, assure that the Class A ( abundant) Grade is suitable for these products and more. This is a Common sense approach to Water Conservation. But, Big Business has the spigot, and Drinking water is the least exensive part of their products cost, they will not consider change unless the public becomes aware of it and voices their opinion.
here is an example of who, what, where, when and Why http://www.vitabrewcoffee.com/water.html you can make a difference with an e-mail

As a renewable resource, the continued extration of ground water continues to deplete Natural supply. The recycling of this spent water, to be recharged back into the ground, is not only inefficient, but, a questionable practice. it has been done as a conventional method, the path of least resistance, dilution. Your Point is well taken, but a point that leads right back to its very existance, how many times before the recharged ratio offsets the conventional theory of dilution. Recycled water is not of a quality which is humanly safe with extended consumption. However, it is safe and sound for other applications.
