How do waterfowl effect a lake’s water quality?
Mike asked:
Lakes (in a park) are often abundant with ducks, geese, and swans. Do these waterfowl have an overall positive or negative effect on a lake’s water quality? For example, the feces of the waterfowl contributes to the presence of coliform bacteria in a lake, but doesn’t it also help contribute to the high nutrient level of the lake?
